Check your YouTube/Vimeo videos (written instructions)

This tutorial will show you how to check YouTube/Vimeo videos using the Accessibility Checker.

When using the page editor, the Accessibility Checker button will be visible in the bottom right hand corner of the main text box.

The Accessibility Checker button

To check the content on your page, click the Accessibility Checker button.

The Accessibility Checker button

If there is a problem with the content, it will show up either as a yellow warning or red error. Clicking these buttons will expand them to provide information about how to fix the issue.

Expanded Warning button box

With videos, the warnings often provide advice and therefore won't disappear unless you click the Accessibility Checker button again.

The closed Accessibility Checker button.

Remember: videos must be captioned to be accessible. If the video is not captioned, do not add it to your site and find an alternative source of information to share.
